FAQ’s

How do I select the charity I want to receive the donation?

You can choose a charity by clicking on Select Your Charity or you can call 1-800-WANT-AWD, or by filling out a mailer we will provide here at our dealership.

What if I want to split my donation (i.e. select more than one charity) or vote more than once?

Each customer who has purchased or leased a new Subaru (2010 or 2011) can either allocate the $250 donation to one charity, or split it among any number of the five charities. Only one donation (of $250) is made per vehicle sale or lease.

How long do I have to make my charity selection?

Selections will be accepted through January 31, 2011. Subaru will make the donation to each charity by
March 1, 2011.

I bought a car, but forgot to submit my charity selections. Where does my money go?

For those who do not submit their charity selection by January 31, 2011, Subaru will distribute the donation evenly across the five charities.

How will I know if my donation was made?

You will receive a “thank you” letter from Subaru and the five charities once all of the submissions have been processed. If you do not submit your selection by January 31, 2011, you will receive a letter from Subaru thanking you for your purchase and notifying you that the $250 was distributed evenly among the five charities.

How much money is expected to be donated?

During last year’s Share the Love Event Subaru donated $5 million, and Subaru is hoping to donate $5 million again this year.

Do I get a tax credit for this donation?

Due to the nature of the agreement between Subaru and the individual charities, donations are not tax-deductible.
